Services Provided
The Family Response Advocate Program (FRA) works within the objectives of the Community Based Child Abuse and Prevention Grant Proposal. We work closely with law enforcement to provide additional support after patrol calls, investigations and other contact with families in the community. The program is to assist in providing resources, referrals and follow-ups for families in Crawford County in order to reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect. We have the ability to distribute concrete support funding to families who have an identified need, make on-site visits and keep appropriate records. We work with other agencies to maximize funding. In addition, the FRA works with families to complete appropriate child development screenings on children and compile extensive data on those families served and types of service provided.
Hours of Operation
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Eligibility
Must have children in the home under the age of 17 years old.
Additional Information
The Family Response Advocate Program (FRA) provides all necessary records for accurate reporting to the Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund. The FRA receives appropriate training in the Strengthening Families Model, child development, developmentally appropriate practice, developmental screening and assessments, preventing abuse and neglect, basic police protocols, home visitation and personal safety. We provide appropriate support to those offering trainings to police officers, fire fighters, utility workers and other city personnel. We attend county coalitions and other appropriate meetings as they pertain to children, families, and/or law enforcement within the communities.
